This was a great app that I used several times a week until the latest update made it worthless! Since the latest update the app will not even open on my iPod Touch. I hope that the developer will fix the problem with the app and provide another update right away!

Since the update, mine crashes too, without even opening

You CAN use family tree maker files. In FTM, export the file, using the option to save it as a ged file. Then follow the directions in the app. In FTM, you can export the entire file, or one individual and his ancestors, or one individual and his descendants. Works great.

Since last update, crashes before it opens. Please fix!!! I loved this app when it worked!

Ive been using GEDVIEW for about a month and have gone through one update. All of the features work very well. Gedcom downloads are a snap. I especially like the fact that notes and sources are included, which is very useful in the field. Had one support question which was answered immediately and solved.

The features and fields available are good and the import function works well. However, there should be an easier way to link family members or it should be more intuitive (maybe Im missing something). Also, the search feature cant find anyone unless I already have them bookmarked.

I love this! Now I have my entire FTM database with me. Need information at the library? Archives? Museum? With this app and your GEDCOM, you are in business. I love the fact that all of my notes are there. Every source I have entered, is there. It will make talking to a fellow researcher or librarian easier when i can show them the source materials I already have utilized. Truly a great app.

Great program for ipod touch. Everything went smoothly in getting databases installed. No problems at all so far! I was surprised that it held all the information in my databases and could display them. Thanks!!!! Amazing!

Not a great app. Not very easy to navigate through. I thought I put in my immediate family. Then I put in my mothers parents and tried to find my mom to link to and it had lost my immediate family info. Also, the categories are not very clear. It just lists date, but no indication if its birthdate, date of marriage, or education levels. Over all I find it unreliable and not user friendly.

Love it... It is well supported by the author - and just works.

Will make adding people better and easier if they can be directly added from Addressbook/Contacts.

I love this app and I want to use it but it keeps CRASHING! Fix this please!

I put in gg grandfather & his wife & children Put in g greatfather & his wife & children Now I cant get the spouses or their children. What am I forgetting?

This app imports my GED files and works great with images also!

This app is awesome so far. I would like to be able to send it to my email and view/print the family tree with another program in Mac OS. There is no way for me to do that at this point. I will give 5 star when this feature is added.

Still crashes when going to tree view, but the app will reopen now.

This is exactly what I was looking for to use my LDS PAF files on my iPad. We can only expect better things from Gedview. I will recommend this app to all of my friends interested in genealogy.

Lots of great features. But a little difficult to navigate. A menu would help.

Im still not sure how I was able to upload successfully but after reloading the browser window after pressing submit the file was indeed on the iPod. Im using this to help with a local history project by connecting persons in family groups that are buried together in a pioneer cemetery. PAF creates the Gedcom file. This will be a big help when I visit cemeteries or the library. No more written notes to decipher when I need a reference point. Many thanks for writing the program.

Easy for this 81 year old non-geek ex dumb blond grandma to install. I made my GED and emailed it to myself. So far I am navigating well, but appreciate the easily accessible tutorial. It is always safe to have extra storage, in addition to being able to carry dead ancestors around. Please --- no bugs.
